Sebastian Bear
By Brittany Howard

Ever wonder where imaginary friends come from? Well, wonder no more. In Sebastian Bear: Invisible Friend, Brittany Holland writes a compelling love story that not only explains where imaginary friends come from, but also explores what happens when their world and ours collide. She’s currently working on a second book set in the same world (Lucian Boom: Invisible Head Case) and it’s just as good, if not better. Please, do yourself a favor and go read it! (Oh, and it’s FREE!)

The Carry On Series
By Rainbow Rowell

A compelling Chosen One story that had me guessing and on the edge of my seat for the entirety of the series. I got the first book as a gift and it caught me by surprise. I fell in love with Simon and with Baz and with all of them so quickly. This will be a yearly re-read for certain.

The Under the Never Sky Series
By Veronica Rossi

I read this series after discovering it on a “How to Cure Your Hunger Games Hangover” list. I read the first, immediately became obsessed, and made my husband drive with me over an hour away to buy books 2 and 3. I recommend these at every chance I get!

The Hunger Games Trilogy
By Suzanne Collins

One of the first trilogies I ever fell in love with, this series will keep you on your toes the whole way through. I love every single character, even the characters I hate. It’s heartbreaking and lovely. My favorite aspect is that Katniss (the protagonist) isn’t inherently likable, which makes her so much more real. Also, #TeamPeeta4Life.

The Harry Potter Series
By JK Rowling

Forever a magical series, the seven Harry Potter books will always rank in my top favorites. If you’ve never read them, you really should. Personally, I think the last half of the series outshines the first half, but the first half really sets you up to love (deeply love) these characters.
